THE COSMOS Organising Committee

An event of the magnitude of COSMOS cannot run smoothly without the patience, expertise and various talents of a core group of friends and members. Meet them here...

Emmet Mordaunt

Emmet is from Dublin and is the current MAC Chairperson (2nd term) and has been a member since 2012. Currently holding his 2nd term in office, Emmet's background has seen him travel between Dublin, Waterford and now Offaly. He is an avid astronomy lecturer and will ready just about any book that interests him on any astronomical topic.

Jason Fallon

Jason is from Athlone and is the current MAC Secretary (2nd term), a former MAC Chairperson (2013 to 2016), and has been a member since 2009. Jason's interests lie in astrophotography, telescopes and deep space. He built his first homemade observatory in 2011, housing a 6 inch reflecting telescope. Jason is somewhat like an Athlone rep, constantly organising outreach events with Athlone Castle.

Seanie Morris

Seanie is from Tullamore and has been a member of MAC since 1990. He is a former Secretary (2004-2016) and currently is an active commmittee member. His interests lie in meteor showers, deep space and space travel. He has presented astronomy lectures and rocket workshops around Ireland for many years. Seanie is a former Chairperson of the Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies (IFAS) between 2013 to 2016, and has been an active organising member of the COSMOS star party since 2001.

Paul Fitzgerald

Paul has been a member of Midlands Astronomy Club for many years, and has been Treasurer for the past 8 years. Paul is one of the first faces to greet you at COSMOS every year as he directs the Registration Desk. If you need anything while you are at COSMOS, Paul is the man to ask!

Declan Molloy

Declan is a former Chairperson of Midlands Astronomy Club and a member for 10 years.

Bob Campbell

Bob is one of the founding members of what was formerly Tullamore Astronomical Society, now Midlands Astronomy Club. Often recognised as the club's 'techie', Bob can build just about anything! In fact, if it wasn't for Bob, there'd be now bottle rocket launches: he designed and constructed a fully remotely operated launch pad with a firing station.
